Living On the Fine Line

A Fine Line It Is

There is a fine line on which you should balance every area of your life. There simply is no exceptions. Every single area in life needs this all important balance.

Everyone has seen the person who works too much, and the one who doesn’t work at all. The shopper who needs multiple stores to feed spending habits, and the tightwad who won’t lend a dollar to a stranger because it is not in the “budget”.

There are those who have become a walking encyclopedia of useless information obtained by searching every digital corner of the internet, and those who simply don’t know what’s going on in the world because they are becoming “one” with nature. Also remember that every stalker starts out with an unbalanced liking for that “lucky” person, so watch yourself!

We Are All Out Of Balance

We all know someone with an unbalanced life, at which we shake our heads, even though we ourselves have stuff out of balance. Now there are two basic types of habits that we have in life which can become unbalanced. The first type includes things that are good to have in your life, like work, hobbies, friendships. The other type includes things that might not be entirely beneficial, like TV, but are enjoyable. Too much of a good thing is not good. While too much of a bad thing, is well, just horrible.

Even great habits, such as service, can grow unhealthy without moderation. For example, it can consume a person to the point where service is all they are focused upon, and they neglect family and friends. For this person, down the road when they need support, will they be able to find it among those they put on the shelf to collect dust?

Balance Is Better For Us

Balancing the way we think and respond to others and our situations is very important in building ourselves and our relationships with others. A person with a well balanced communication lifestyle will not be too talkative, so that they can listen. And also not silent, so they can say what needs to be said.

Balance in your thought life will help lead to a more balanced life. It is important to constantly check your thoughts with your priorities in life and who you want to become. Then your actions will follow in these footsteps of thinking. For example, in someone’s work if they are starting to inch closer and closer to a work crazy life. If they start to think more and more about the importance of family. It will help to inch closer and closer back to the fine line of proper balance. Think it and it will come.

Just The Right Amount

The only way to truly enjoy something to the fullest is to have just the right amount of it. The greatest song ever, soon becomes like an alarm clock after 23 straight times in a row. A favorite food or desert tastes the best when it is consumed occasionally, not whenever it is available. So when you start to get sick of something, try and think of how often you experience that in your life.

Take A Look

Of course if you asked most people if they want to live a balanced life they would respond with the expected yes. But are they actually willing to seek it out? The reason that our lives become so unbalanced and unhealthy is because it takes work to keep all the areas of our lives in check. We must stop for a moment among our busy lives for an introspective look at how we are living and where this path will lead us.

The idea of balance does not mean that we shouldn’t pursue things to great lengths. With each area in a state of balance, not too far to the right or to the left, a person is able to have the greatest experience in each moment of life. Like I said it is a fine line. And in the end, balance simply brings out the best in everyone.

Life, keep it simple and live it
