The Feeling Of Life

Dulling Senses

Amongst the cell phones and TV screens, the busy schedules filled with traffic and fast food, we miss it. Yet we do all of it in pursuit of what we are missing. We do all of this for a sense of feeling.

We were made to feel. We were designed in every fashion to feel this life. But do you even remember what it feels like to be alive? And what I really mean is, what it “feels” like to be alive. In the sense of what it feels like to put your hand on a cherry red stove top, or stub your toe on the small region of your bed frame which seems to be covertly waiting for your pinky toe before it strikes.

Both of these fall under the category of pain, and if you have ever experienced either of them, then you may still remember what it “felt” like. We tend to vividly remember pain, but how much of your life do you vividly remember?

Buried Remembrance

When is the last time you took a breath, and remembered the feeling of your most memorable ones? The feeling of the subtle beat of your heart, and the resurfacing memories of the times that it beat out of your chest in a moment of fear or excitement.

Moments that are found buried down deep in the banks of our memories. They are the very moments in which we felt life. We do not remember them as well as we should. We even find ourselves seeking a virtual life, a fabricated reality with a lesser potential.

Life is something to be experienced, and remembered. And there are no better experiences than the ones that fill up our senses. The ones that we experience when our senses collide with the world around us in the most explosive of exploits. Those found housed and securely locked away, within a memory’s grasp. The moments in life when we feel.

Graying

Over time we dull to the things that once were so vibrant in nature, but is out of a lack of true appreciation that we gray. In new found focus we can see the greatness of life’s simple situations.

We have traded the priceless moments of living life for virtual monthly subscriptions of scripted, and lifeless interaction. We find ourselves in danger of living a lifeless existence where the diem is already carpe’d by another. We are in danger of losing out on life’s greatest moment. The simple moments when we feel. Because it is just too much hassle to try.

Withdraw

Go down to the banks of the forgotten memories once deposited. Find the last time you felt the blood pulsing through your neck, and remember that there are only so many of these moments. Simply put, don’t forget in the moments of life, what it feels like to be alive. To pursue life and withdraw from the deposits of life that were meant for you. For this is one of our greatest adventures.

Life, keep it simple and live it
